Raised So Far:

Prayers and thoughts are with the people in Japan who recently have lost their homes, family members, friends and lives from the devastating  earthquake and tsunami. We would like to invite everyone in Vancouver to walk with us on Sunday, April 3rd 2011 to support our family and our friends who have been impacted.

Vancouver Japan Relief Walk of Hope is being organized by Vancouver based Photographer, Christopher Pike;  organizer of Metro Vancouver Photography Workshops and Vancouver Smug.

“I have a friend in Sendai Japan, they are in such a need for help.”, says Christopher. “My heart goes out whenever I think about my friend and his family over there.”

When considering how he could join the relief effort, Christopher took into account what he knows best: photography. Within days of the earthquake, he had mobilized professional photographers and a network of friends to put expression to the Vancouver-Japan Relief Walk of Hope.

We invite the community to gather friends, family and coworkers to join in the walk by registering at here and making a tax-deductible donation through the Red Cross link on the site. It is important for the Walk of Hope participants to register as we will be taking over some streets in Downtown Vancouver. Registering provides us with an accurate number of participants.

“We have everything,” Mr. Pike stresses, “and so many in Japan have lost all that they have.”
